Where is the cheapest place to buy and sell stock online, and can I buy and sell stocks that are not in the US?

interactive broker can suit you here but be wary. Zecco has serious customer service issues. Scottrade burned me on a stop loss order.
Cheaper is not always better.

Scottrade is among the cheapest – $7 per trade. ETrade I believe lets you trade on several different exchanges around the world – but I’ve never used this so I’m not sure about this.
