If you buy them at “market price” the price you pay is the price at the time it is executed, usually within a few minutes of you clicking to purchase it. However, if you put in a “limit order” and set the price you’ll pay it is executed at the time the stock price hits the targeted limit price.(Not always exactly at your selected limit price but usually very close).
