Which online site can you buy/sell stocks without a large initial deposit? Also one without tons of fees?

i havnt a clue about stocks and shares but would like to start doing somethink with my money rather then have it sitting in the bank doing nothink. any good sites to get the basics of buying/selling shares? and is there any way of buying online? are there any other ways to buy?
