There was an infomercial on this software that was pretty much idiot proof that anyone could use to trade stocks online and do business research. Does anyone remember what the name of the program was called?
(Don’t give names like Ameritrade, Scotts, or any of those, because I’m sure it wasn’t as popular as those)

No you don’t. I am a UK citizen and I trade US stocks from an account with a UK and US based online brokers.
There are a small number of countries where it would be a problem (from memory – Nigeria, Burma, Syria, Iran) but that is because their governments have not signed up to international treaties covering the financial markets. In most cases there will not be a problem, the only hurdle you have to jump through is standard identification requirements to provide identification proving who you are and where you are.
All trading will be in US Dollars, but your broker will convert any cash balance. The amount of tax you pay will depend on the tax treaty between the US and your home state. You will have to sign some IRS forms as part of the set up process, in most cases the broker will withold whatever tax is due and the IRS will write to you if it thinks you owe anything else.

For example, I buy 1000 shares of a stock for $10 each on the US Market for a total of $10,000. The US Market closes at 4pm Eastern.
If an indicator comes out after the US Market closes to indicate the stock will significantly fall in price as soon as the US Market opens tomorrow, can I use my online broker to sell the stock in an overseas market that was originally traded in the US Market so that I can sell that stock in its entirety for profit prior to the US Market opening again in the morning and having the value of the stock plummet?
Basically I am looking to ensure I don’t take a loss by selling the stock in a foreign market for profit prior to the US Market opening again in the morning.
Is this possible? If so, how can it be done?
If this is not possible, why can’t the stock be traded in a foreign market, just as foreign stocks are bought and sold here in the US Market?

I want to trade stocks online in overseas markets like India, Singapore, China, and Japan. What is the most reliable and reputable online brokerage service to use?
If you have no knowledge of the named topic, please don’t conjecture or confabulate i.e. “Well, you should research what markets you want to invest in or go through a U.S. based firm for advice.” These aren’t answers.
